Which bedding is best for dairy cows?
There isn’t a single “best” bedding for every farm. The right choice depends on your housing system, management routine, budget and priorities. Whatever bedding you choose, it should provide a clean, dry and comfortable surface that encourages cows to lie down and helps support udder health.

Do you have bedding which can help reduce mastitis?
Clean, dry bedding is one of the many factors that can help reduce the risk of environmental mastitis. While no specific type of bedding can prevent mastitis on its own, choosing a high-quality bedding material and maintaining good cubicle hygiene can contribute to a healthier environment for your cows.
We would also recommend mixing our lime powder with your bedding, which will raise the pH, increasing absorption and reducing moisture, which helps to suppress the bacteria that cause mastitis.
What's the difference between wood fibre and sawdust bedding?
Both products provide comfortable bedding for dairy cows, but they have different characteristics.
Wood fibre is generally more fibrous and can offer excellent absorbency and cushioning, while sawdust tends to have a finer texture. The best option will depend on your housing system, bedding routine and personal preference.

How can I reduce my cattle bedding costs?
Reducing bedding costs isn’t always about buying the cheapest product. Using a bedding material that is highly absorbent and performs well can reduce waste and help maintain cleaner cubicles for longer.
Adding lime powder to your bedding also makes the bedding go further, thereby reducing overall costs.
Which cattle bedding is most absorbent?
There are many factors affecting absorbency, including the type of mats used and whether farmers prefer dusty or non-dusty bedding. Bulk kiln dry and fine sawdust have a finer particle size and are absorbent, but other beddings such as FibreDry also have good absorbency.
