The latest milk prices June 2026 figures published by DEFRA show that while milk quality remains strong, farm-gate prices continue to reflect a difficult trading environment for dairy farmers.
Milk Prices June 2026: Key DEFRA Figures
- The UK average farm-gate milk price is 34.37 pence per litre. This represents a 0% increase on May 2026 and a 20% decrease on June 2025.
- Butterfat content decreased 0.8% from May ‘26 at 4.24%. Compared to last year, butterfat content is 1.1% higher than June 2025.
- Protein content decreased 1.8% from May ‘26 at 3.4%. Compared to last year, protein content is 0.6% higher than June 2025.
- Milk volumes in June 2026 were 1,325 million litres. They have decreased 8.3% on May 2026 and decreased 2.2% on June 2025.
